The Bakkehus Museum
The Bakkehus Museum tells the story of the Danish Golden Age, as it took place at Bakkehus.
Discover Kamma and Knud Lyne Rahbek’s authentic home from the early 1800s, when the house was a gathering place for the cultural and literary circle of leading personalities of that time, such as Hans Christian Andersen, Adam Oehlenschläger, Johan Ludvig Heiberg, Bernhard Severin Ingemann and Hans Christian Ørsted.
On 2 May 2017, the museum will open Kamma Rahbek’s newly renovated Romantic garden, as well as a special exhibition about the garden (on show until 22 October 2017). You can enjoy coffee and historical food in the Orangery, beautifully situated in the middle of the blossoming garden.
